Summary of Sermon:
This week began a series on the promised seed of the Old Testament we began by looking at promised serpent slaying seed. In the Sermon, the big idea was that we need a serpent slayer.
First, we need a serpent slayer, and Adam wasn’t him.
Second, we need a serpent slayer, and you aren’t him.
Third, we need a serpent slayer, and Jesus is him.
Summary and Reflection:
Read Genesis Chapter 2 verse 4- Chapter 3: 24. In this passage, we are shown that we need a serpent slayer.
- Who did God make and what did he make for him? ( Chapter 2 verses 4-14)
- What was man expected to do in order to remain in paradise and have eternal life? ( Chapter 2 verses 15-17)
- Who did God make for Man to partner with him in reigning over the garden? ( Chapter 2 verses 18-25)
- Who challenged God and tempted Man and Woman? What were his methods? ( Chapter 3 verses 1-6)
- What happened when man disobeyed? ( Chapter 3 verses 7-13)
- What curses did God make upon Man, Woman, and Serpent? What glimmers of hope do we see in the passage? ( Chapter 3 verses 14-24, especially Chapter 3 verse 15)
